("Spensa", "we," "us," and sometimes "our") values the privacy of those who use our applications, tools, products, features, content, resources, including Z-Trap technologies, and the applications, tools, products, features, content, resources and services, including OpenScout and MyTraps, available on our websites, including www.spensatech.com (collectively, the "Services") and we make commercially reasonable efforts to protect your privacy. By accessing or using our Services, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any of these terms in, please do not access or use our Services or submit any personal information.

This Privacy Policy covers the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that may be collected any time you interact with us, such as when you use our Services, access third-party services via our Services, or communicate with our employees. Please read the following to learn more about what information we collect, what we do with that information, and how we may use your personal information.

  1. Information collection and use. The primary reason that we collect certain personal information is to provide the best possible level of customer service. It enables us to deliver product announcements, software updates and special offers as well as provide convenient and personalized user access and improve the features and usability of our products and services.
    1. Internal Use. We may collect and use your information, including personally identifiable information, for internal business purposes in a number of situations, for example:
      1. Personal information such as name, e-mail address, contact preferences, which of our products and services you use, and transactional information such as your credit card number — to deliver and support our products and services;
      2. Demographic and business information such as your employer, occupation, and where you use your computer and mobile devices — to improve our understanding of our customer needs;
      3. Tracking information about your visit from the browser or our application on your computer or mobile device, including IP address, cookies and the pages you request — to analyze trends, administer the site, track your navigation of the site, deliver relevant advertisements and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use; and

When you post information to our websites, you are granting us permission to use and take other actions with respect to such information (as described in the Terms of Service), in order to enable us to provide our Services. We do not share, sell, rent or otherwise distribute this information to others, except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. We may share your information with others, including personally identifiable information, outside of Spensa under the following circumstances:
      1. We have your explicit consent to share the information (including as provided in our Terms of Service, such as with respect to non-personally identifiable or aggregated information);
      2. We need to share your information to fulfill your product or service request;
      3. We wish to contact you with information about products and services from our business partners, which we may do unless you "opt out" of such communications by clicking the unsubscribe link found within email updates;
      4. We have a good faith belief that sharing or otherwise permitting access, disclosure, use or preservation of such information is reasonably necessary in order to comply with our legal obligations;
      5. You have explicitly requested information from our business partners, in which case it will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply;
      6. We believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or potential threats against persons or property; or
      7. We believe it is necessary to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service, or to enforce those Terms of Service.
    3. Advertisements. Spensa uses one or more companies to place advertisements for our products and services and those of third-parties on our site and third-party sites. Cookies and other technologies such as Web beacons or tags are used to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to determine the display of content and advertising to you based on your interests both on our site, as well as on third-party sites where you may visit. To support this interest-based advertising solution, we, and companies who we have contracted with, may use anonymous information about your visits to our and other Web sites. The information collected and used by this process is always anonymous, and does not enable any third-party to identify you individually.
  2. Public information. Certain portions of our Services are open to any online viewer. Any information that you post in these locations can be read, collected and used by anyone, and could enable others to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for any publication or use of any personal information you choose to post in publicly accessible areas of our site.
  3. Termination of services. You may elect to terminate your use of the Services at any time. If you cancel your account, or delete any data, it will no longer be accessible to you, but we may retain or archive such data and/or share it with your employer in the case of Subscription Services (see our Terms of Service). In addition, public information as described above may remain openly available.
  4. Cookies and tracking pixels.
    1. General. Cookies are small data files that a website you visit may save on your hard drive that usually includes an anonymous unique identifier. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture your e-mail address. Our websites use cookies for user authentication, keeping track of your preferences, promotional campaigns that require user identification, keeping track of our audience size and traffic patterns, and in certain other cases. We may include tracking pixels, which are small graphic images, in our email messages and newsletters to determine whether the messages were opened and the links were actually viewed.
    2. Blocking Cookies. You can configure your browser to accept cookies, reject cookies or notify you when a cookie is being used. However, if you configure your browser to reject cookies, you may not be able to use our Services that require you to sign in or take advantage of all the features. If you do not want to receive tracking pixels, you will need to disable HTML images in your email client, but that may affect your ability to view images in other email that you receive.
    3. Third Party Cookies. We may allow third-party business partners that display advertisements on some of our web pages to maintain their own cookies on your computer. These business partners do not have access to our cookies and their use is subject to their own privacy policies.
  5. Links. Our Services may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policy or other practices employed by websites linked to, or from, our Services, nor the information or content contained therein. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by our Services.
  6. Data security.
    1. No Warranty. We are committed to protecting the security of your information and takes reasonable precautions to protect it. However, Internet data transmissions, whether wired or wireless, cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure and, as a result, we cannot ensure the security of information you transmit to us. Accordingly, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk.
    2. Security Measures in Effect. Once we receive your data transmission, we make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our systems:
      1. Your password is protected by encryption and only you have access to it;
      2. We have various technical, administrative and physical procedures in place to protect personal information and data from loss, misuse or alteration; and
      3. Some Services support the use of standard SSL encryption to protect data transmissions.

      However, nothing herein is a guarantee that such data transmissions cannot be accessed, altered or deleted due to firewall or other security software failures.

    3. Security Breach. If we learn of a security system breach we may attempt to notify you and provide information on protective steps, if available, through the e-mail address that you supplied during registration or posting a notice on our website. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive such notices in writing.
  7. Changes and updates. We reserve the right to update and change this Privacy Policy, in whole or in part, at any time, at our sole discretion. You are responsible for regularly checking this Privacy Policy for any updates or other changes and can review the most current version of this Privacy Policy at any time at http://spensatech.com/privacy/. Your continued use of our Services constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates then in effect.
  8. Change of control. Notwithstanding any statement herein to the contrary, if we should ever sell our assets, merge with another entity or file for bankruptcy, information collected from this website and in the operation of the services may be transferred as assets of Spensa.
